We have a front door.... Oh and plaster is done

Wasn't expecting anything to be done this week, but we now have a front door, and it looks like all the internal plaster work has now been done.

I can't wait to get a peek inside, to see what it all looks like. Hopefully I can arrange a walk through soon.

Managed to get a few mediocre pictures.

Eaves & Electrical Rough in & Insulation

Well last week bricks where cleaned, and I was starting to wonder how long our build was going to take.

On Friday I was told that gyprock would be started this coming week. Lets just say they have done a lot in the past week, and I have been left amazed.

I am also impressed with the way Provincial has approached and are resolving some of the issues that have popped up.

  • The framing issue I mentioned earlier, I could see through a window has now been resolved which is fantastic.
  • The missing articulation joint in the rear will be added in next week as well.

Lets just say I am pretty impressed with how it's all looking and starting to take shape. The finish level from the outside does look pretty amazing. The bricks look even better now that they have fully dried. I can't wait to see what it will look like when gyprocked.

Since last week it looks like they have finished off the following.

  • Eaves Done
  • Electrical Rough in done
  • Insulation done
  • Gas Meter installed
  • Electrical box installed
I have been told that gyprock will be started this coming week. The house is really starting to take shape.

For those following the one thing I would reconsider is how much sound insulation you get done between walls, if I were to go back I would probably include a few more walls. Then again most people don't really do any !!

Anyways on with the photos.

Bricks Cleaned

Went by the house the other day, and it looked like I had probably just missed the brick cleaner by a few hours.

The bricks still looked a little damp, but they had been acid washed. The Bowral Murray Grey bricks have come up really nice.

I haven't been able to have a look at the bricks close up, but I'm hoping that no mortar has been blown out through the washing process.

Kinda Grey and Pink up close, the brown brick will be moroka'd and dune in color.

Looks nice when the sunlight hits it.
